Social Dancing!

Today Room 1&2 (all boy class), Room 15 (all girl class),Room 14 (mixed class) and Room 4 (mixed class) went to social dancing. For me I didn't like it but other people did. We had to dance with girls and I just don't like dancing with girls that's all.  We did heaps of dances like the Break away blues and the Disco jive. They we're fun but I didn't like the dancing. Each time we do social dancing we learn a new dance. My personal favourite is the Makarena but we haven't done it yet. We do social dancing on  Mondays,Tuesdays and Thursdays. I hope we do social dancing again for the music.

Leavers assembly song practice!

Yesterday room 14,15 and 1&2 went to the phadi minaki. We go there to do the song practice. When we got there Mr Ohia told us about the new stuff they added to the song and then we sing it. After 3 or 4 times of singing the song, Mr Ohia tells us what we need to work on and what we are good at. After that we sing the song one more time, standing up and the teachers tell us how good we sang. Then we go back to our class and do work again. We do the song practice about two to three times a week.

How to make scones!!!!

Equipment:

  • Measuring cup
  • A teaspoon measure.
  • Butter knife and sharp knife.
  • Bowl.
  • Tray.
  • Oven
Ingredients:


  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Milk

1. Get your bowl and put 3 cups of flour in (with measuring cup).
2. Grab baking powder and add 3 teaspoons of powder.
3. Put a pinch of salt on your and and drop it into the bowl.
4. Slice butter with sharp knife and turn it into cubes.
5. Put butter cubes in bowl and rub in with flour until it looks like bread crumbs.
6.Add milk and stir with butter knife until dough like.
7. Pinch the dough and make it into a shape.
8. Grab a tray and put the shaped dough into the tray.
9. set the oven to 200/250 c° and wait about 15 minutes.
10. Take tray out and wait for scones to cool down.

That is how you make scones!!!
(make scones reasonably big so they don't burn.)

Blog post.

Yesterday Room 14 went to Rutherford. I was in tennis with my friend Michael. We were going to walk but it was rainy and windy, so we took our umbrellas and went in car. When we got there we went to the tennis court. We were going good till it rained again,so we went and played inside. What we did was, Gene (our coach), grabbed some balls and hit them and we would have to hit them back. Also, he wouldn't wait for you so you had to be quick. After that we did some rallying. Me and Michael were the kings. We had to defend our spot by winning two points. It was really fun and energizing. We were in,out,in,out and it was funny! After 15 minutes it cleared up and we had to go back to school. I wanted to go back to school but it was fun at tennis anyway.

Blog post

On Wednesday the school had cross country. The Juniors did cross country at school while the seniors did cross country at Rutherford. The Rutherford track had up's and down's. Short parts,long parts and everything else. It was awesome! It was 10 and 11 year old's first. When the girls finished it was the boys turn. The race started. I was going as fast as I can. It took me around 30 minutes to finish. What place did I come?... I don't know! I didn't come last or first but I was happy I finished.

Scavenger hunt

Yesterday we had a rock hunt. There were two in total. Me and Cody teamed up to find the rocks. Cody checked the back of the school while I checked the front. While I was searching I saw some of my friends. I searched for 10 minutes and when the bell rung Me and Cody were hoping nobody found the rocks but two people did find them. It was Calani and Cullen. Everyone was looking in the hard spots but Calani just looked under the flying fox at the back. Me and Cody were really sad but we didn't care. We had fun on the way.

How to make mashed potatoes!

How to make mashed potato's!!!
Ingr├ędients.
  • Potato's
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Butter
  • milk

Equipment
  • Pot
  • masher
  • peeler
  • Chopping board
  • shieve

Step one: grab potato,put on chopping board and peel. Peel more potato for more mashed potato
Step two: get a pot and put water into it.
Step three: put pot on stove and but temp onto high.
Step four: grab potato(es) and put in pot.
Step five:Wait until boiling then simmer for 10 minutes (when bubbles show up) and drain the water with a shieve.
Step six: put potato(es) back in the pot and mash with a masher.
Step seven: Add milk in halfway and add salt in to make it taste better
Step eight: Enjoy

Making playdoh!

This is how you make Playdoh! But first you will need equipment
  • Bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • ½ teaspoon?
  • Spoon

Ingredients
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Food colouring
  • flour

Step one: put ½ of a cup of salt in the bowl.
Step two: put 1 ½ cup of  flour into the mixing bowl.
Step three: put ½ of a teaspoon of oil into the mixing bowl
Step four: then put food colouring and mix lightly with a spoon.
Step five: take spoon out, put water in and mix with hands. If goes hard add more water.
Step six: mix for about 3 minutes or more.
Step seven: enjoy!
If its not working add a bit more flour if it’s to sticky or water if to dry.

Park story

It was a shining day and me and my class walked to a small park.It was about a 5 or 10 minute walk.I tired me out but I was really energetic for the fun! When we got there one third of the class went to the two swings. I looked at them. They swung back and forth. I got bored so i went on the slide. I slithered down the slippery slide. I got wet at the bottom. I almost fell down when I got up. It was funny!
I was going to get back up until I saw people taking pictures on blue tablets. Some of the pictures were silly. They were also taking videos. They were all in slow mode and some videos were just looking at the solid ground. It was hilarious!
Then I went on the thing nearly the whole entire class was on it. It was… The big Jungle gym!!! There were ladders,poles and a climbing rope! They were up,down,sideways EVERYWHERE!!! I was getting pushed,shoved and all that other nonsense. I was in the Jungle gym for ten minutes. Some of the kids were saying “I'm Spiderman!” After about another 5 minutes in the big jungle gym we needed to walk back to school. Everyone sighed with sadness but it was a great day for me and the class. Now the really long walk and about 5 minutes we were back at school doing what we do best… Study!!

Gymnastics

A few weeks ago I did gymnastics. There was a foam pit, two trampolines, an air track and two obstacle courses. My favourite part of the gym is the foam pit because the foam blocks are fluffy and its really hard to get out the trampolines. My second favourite thing there is an Olympics trampoline. it goes really high. My third favourite is the air track because you run to the end and jump onto a mattress but I jump into the foam pit. The last favourite are the obstacle courses because they have a wall that you climb and there are poison block on it so we cant touch them. There are rope swings and a trampoline that goes into the foam pit. The other one has a rolly polly mattress. There is a pole that you have to swing around on. There's two trust climb ledges. That is my favourite gym, you should go there to.

THE EXPERIMENT!

To make this experiment you will need:
1. A bowl
2. A mug
3. Some glad rap
4. Some water
5. string/rubber band

1. Put the mug in the bowl.
2. Put the water half way to the mug but don't fill it.
3. Put the glad wrap on the bowl.
4. Seal it with the string or rubber band.
5. Put it in the sun.
6. Wait.

My perdition was that the water will boil and the sun will make a sun beam but it would be all squiggly because of the water.

My perdition wasn't correct.

The results
The results were that the sun heated up the water and evaporated up towards the glad wrap. Condensation formed on the glad wrap. When the water vapour became heavy it dropped water into the mug like rain (precipitation).

Weekly Reflection T2W10

What: Last week Miss Morris said that she is going to have to go to Rm 6 because the original teacher Miss Tyman is leaving  Carlton School for good. So Mrs Palmer and Mr Ohia will be in my class more often. After that Mrs Larsen told the class that she was going to Australia for the holidays and that's a whole week. I hope she has fun. After that we did our assembly practice my line is Today's assembly is brought to you by He Puna Hangahanga.

So What: Last week I learnt how to make a 3D house on Tinkercad.

Now What: I have not achieved my goal of listening because I am not listening to my parents or the teacher all the time but I'm getting better.

Weekly Reflection T2W9

What: Last week I did transactional writing about if we are allowed or not allowed to have tackle games at our school. I chose that we should be able to play tackle games at our school. After I learnt about the water cycle. It starts as water vapor then turns into a cloud. The cloud rains and goes as fresh water down the mountain. Now it goes to the river or ocean. The sun warms the water up so it makes water vapor. Now the water vapor cools down an joins together to make a cloud again then it starts all over again. After that I wrote 5 facts about the steps of the water cycle. The names of the steps are condensation, precipitation, accumulation, evaporation and transpiration.

So What: Last week I learnt about the water cycle.

Now What: I have not achieved my goal of listening because I am sometimes not listening to the teacher.
